    Default Error on startup

Okay, when i first downloaded the eb .81 mod, it played the vanilla version of the game, after asking on another forum,i changed the folder that it was looking in, still the same, i then changed it again, and when i start up now, i get a message saying generic error in data_descr_battle_map_lighting_and_fog_control.txt ... i cant remember the exact wording, can anyone help me? the mod tag in the properties is correct btw.
ALso, the vanilla small rome total war loading thingy appears right after i clicked, am, i just wasting my time?
    Thanks in advance

Ok, you either already had .80 installed or installed the big .81?
    Where did you install EB?
Where is RTW on your system?
What did you do, where did you move what?

And did you get the EB icon on your desktop? If you put everything where it belongs, you can only start EB through that icon or else you will get vanilla.

I installed the big eb .81 from scratch, oh, thanks for the welcome, Rome total war is in the Activision folder on my computer, however, even though i put this in the target, it didnt work, Eb is in another folder, cant quite remember which one, and when i set that as the target, the game begins to load when i click the eb icon, but then says; "generic error in data_descr_battle_map_lighting_and_fog_control.txt" and i have to quit.

Do you have a username with non-roman characters in it for XP? The EB installer cannot recognise them so it can't install properly. Best bet is to make a temporary adminstrative account with a username with only roman characters in it and then install EB using that login.

You installed .81 from scratch? You didn't have .80? And you didn't just install the patch did you?

Someone with the same error got this response:

You said you had the "Activision" folder so in the EB installer you should have written this:
    Code:
    C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\
Try unistalling .81 and reinstalling making sure that is the destination.

Emphasis in the quote added by me. That's your problem right there, EB *must* be installed in the same folder as RTW.

Target destination while loading? No no, you need to *install* EB in the same directory, not change the shortcut.
