    Default Battlefield 2142

Great game. What could be fun is rounding up everyone who plays it here and having an org squad/clan.

    Anyone else interested?

I have Battlefield 2 and that is enough of EA games for me. I really dislike them as a publisher. Do you realise what they did at the exact moment BF2142 was released? They realesed a patch that changes only a tiny bit of play, yet is something like a 65 or more megabyte file. I suspect it was a ploy to get people not bothered with BF2 and go to BF2142. What I suspect they also did is put a limit on the number of servers you can see when you press "Update server list" because I used to be able to view 1000s of servers, now only about 150. I think they did this to make people who play BF2 feel like everyone went to play 2142.

And on top of all this I really dislike the way that EA release so many so called "booster packs" and "expansion packs" with very little content worthy of a free mod. Look at the Sims 2. It has 7 expansion packs. Now are EA just being nice to the community by releasing all these Expansions speratly? No, they want to suck as much money as possible. By the way there has already been an X-pack announced for 2142.

Also, are there not many in game advertisements?

Thats just my . Make up your own minds.

No in game ads for the Australian version

I have no trouble having 600+ servers.

The 1.10 patch (3rd patch) is only 37 MB. Not 65...

Northern Strike (The xp pack) doesnt cost as much, but only adds a new type of gameplay 3 maps, weapons and a new vechicle for each side.

Still, I would be interested to see if anyone else here plays it but me

The patch we have to use here in the real world is called 1.41 and is 60mb+.

I can find 600+ servers, however, I have to press the "update" button and play around with it more than usual (and its definitly not my connection).

The fact that Northern Strike costs less means it is a mere booster pack and that there will be more down the road.

If you enjoy it pevergreen then by all means ignore me, but no thanks is my descision.

I like the game because you have Titan assaults, which add more scenarios than a regular BF2.

    Have you just been dumped?

I ask because it's usually something like that which causes outbursts like this, needless to say I dissagree completely.

The Battlefield 2 patch 1.41 is 500+ megs with no incremental.
The Battlefield 2142 patch 1.10 is 37 megs.

BF2142 is more balanced. A lot more balanced. No more HS with PKM. No more uber leet sniping.

Titan Mode is incredible fun, even with the grenade corridor spam

I have no regrets about making the switch. And if i ever do, my copy of BF2 is always there.

I am not done with BF2 either... I still get 600+ servers when I log in.

Couldn't agree more, I think BF2142 is a joke (the worst one that is)...
