    Default Adding units to factions

Hi, first of all I'd like to congratulate you all on the 0.81 release, it is by far the best mod for Rome I have ever played, great job guys! It's hard to believe those game developers had the incentive of millions of dollars of profit to encourage them to make something good, yet failed to make anything near as immersing as what your team have achieved!

Second, I have a small question; is it possible to add units existing on another roster, onto that of a different faction; for example, adding Indian Elephants to the Pahlava faction. I understand its not entirely historically accurate but they're my favourite faction and I'd love to have elephants to throw against phalanx formations since my horse archers can't penetrate heavy phalanx armour even from the back and I'm having trouble dealing with them. In order to add them, which files would I have to change?

    Thanks guys

We have been discussing Indians for Parthians. I'm not certain what the decision was, but I thought it was that they would have access in the future. Rob has been doing all the elephant rider skins, and I think will move on to the elephants very soon too, so we can hope that in the next big update we will have those all included. As for how to add a unit to a faction - it's all way too complicated for me to understand. Tens of thousands of lines of recruitment code is generated by spreadsheets and a program.

Ah right, that's cool then. Don't wanna go messing with the game files myself so I'll wait. It's not like there isn't enough fun to be had in the game anyway!

    Cheers.

Or you could ask yourself this: "How was it that Pahlava - without elephants - was historically able to crush the Greek Phalanx?" And the answer is that you already have the troop mix which can do that. Use your cavalry to spread them out, lower morale with a rain of arrows, "pin" them at the front with a foot archer attack (*gasp!*), and then demolish them with a Cataphract charge to the rear or flank.

In EB, we always give you the tools for victory - but they aren't the SAME tools for every faction.
