Post Star Wars Empire At War

    Hello All!

Well, as a kind of star wars fanatic i play SWEAW alot online and single player. I prefer the Empire campaign and their units. However, online i tend to play as the empire still but when playing on a land battle its the rebels alll the way, except when a big old AT-AT comes up behing my shield generator and blasts it to smitherines. not fun at all. I'm in a clan {TRA} which stands for Tactical Rogue Assassins, im co-general of this clan if you wish to tryout give me a PM.
Whats your opinions on this RTS Star Wars game?

    Cheers

Have only played the demo long ago, but liked it a lot. If I'm to purchase another RTS, I think this one will be somewhere on the top of my list.

I have a question: is it possible to issue orders to your units while the game is paused, or at least to slow down in game passage of time when needed?

You can issue orders paused in the galactic map. Not sure about tactical battles.

Yes, you can issue orders whilst the game is paused and as you resume play the orders you have given to the units will be carried out

I heard that in this game you cannot use the Death Star's offense in space combat, which to me seems extremely lame.

Did they fix that in the expansion? If not, didn't anyone give the devs feedback that not being able to use the Death Star's offense in space combat really sucks?

I also heard that they took out "special duels" between Jedi vs. Sith heros in the expansion, which also sucks.

I been debating about getting this but with the above issues combined with mass player feedback that the ground combat is kind of half-baked, I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Then again, I recently saw a list where it was one of the top 100 selling games (of PCs and consoles combined) in 2006, so perhaps it's not so bad as the feedback would have one believe.

I wouldn't trust the sales charts - 50 of the top 100 are likely to be sims games

The Death Star II has the ability to use it's super laser on star bases, capital ships, and frigates. However there is neither a rebel nor empire campagin (the campagin is only the consortium) in the expansion. You can only play as them in the galactic conquest mode.

Ugh. Just about *any* strategy game would be better than Rebellion. It had a lot of cool concepts, but was very poorly executed. Trying to play that game was just an exercise in frustration.
I agree, Rebellion kept me entertained (years ago) for a while because of how different it was from anything else at the time, but then the gameplay got repetitive and frustrating.

As for Star Wars: Empire At War, my friend got it and then convinced me to play a LAN game against him, it didn't really appeal that much to me, it's kind of hard to explain why but it just didn't appeal to me.

In defense of Rebellion, the game just needed some polish and a bit more of a cleaner layout. It is kind of the Hearts of Iron of the Star Wars universe.

So plain graphics that has incredibly boring gameplay that only appeals to a small minority of grognards. Got it.
