    Default Celts and their saddles

...namely, there's quite a few cavalry units whose model use some kind of saddle (usually the "Celtic" four-horned one) - but the Celtic (Gallic, Galatian...) ones aren't among them. While I understand the "horned" saddle only came to common use around a century after the EB starting date, as far as I understand there's no "reform" concerning the matter in the game and it does seem somewhat peculiar that the Celtic cavalry is so bereft of probably their single most famous piece of equestrian gear.

    An unenlightened soul is puzzled.

Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

I'm def. no help when it comes to explain decisions in game design (perhaps: priorities?). But your post made me wonder - what did the Celts use before the invention of the "four-horned-saddle"? Perhaps the famous Gundestrup Caldron already provides the answer (in particular have a closer look to the rider to the left).

They used the infamous "One-horned saddle", but the location of the horn left much to be desired.......

As important as they were i'm not sure they necessitate an actual reform (say, like the Cataphract one).

I wasn't talking about that, but rather wondering why they're not using the saddles to begin with - a lot of other cavalry units do, after all.

Unfortunately, the saddles is another thing that has been missed in current verions of EB. They were supposed to have been implemented over a year and a half ago.

Oh. Well, that answers the question. It's not like it's a major thing, just something I wondered about.

To be precise we do not currently have Celtic skins for the saddle-horses.

These skins are on the to-do list and as soon as they are done the Celts will have saddles.

As I'm sure you can appreciate we have units which are still not even modelled and while highly desirable this is a relatively minor issue when compared to completing out unit rosters.
