I think the fact that every other setting in the file has a space in between the equals sign might be a big clue.

To disable movies other than the intro, you can look in \data\fmv and guess the appropriate filename, then try renaming the extension to .bak or something.

Or you can use the applicable settings in the cfg file. I notice mine has these all set to 1 in the video section:

Set any you don't wish to see to 0. Should be obvious from their names exactly which movies they control...

Likewise if you've disabled a type of movie, but want to have it back, setting the appropriate one(s) to 1 is the thing to do.

Checked it, confirmed, "movies = 0" with the spaces is indeed correct. Thanks Foz! That's another hour or two of my life saved!

No problem gardibolt. Don't make a big fuss about me being over here though... I'm hiding here cuz it's a thread I'm not in trouble in. So shhhhh...

Apparently today just isn't a good mood day for me...

Yeah, this works great... as long as you don't keep overwiting the config file like I seem to!

    Hehe.

Need to go through those other suggested mods/fixes of yours, Foz. Now that I THINK I have them working. Left out a step after putting in some changes, so they weren't taking effect (though the txt files were right).

Yeah, I get that too. It works the first time you launch MTW2, then after you exit, the setting is gone and the next time you will get the videos again. The best way is the method I suggested above, which is to simply rename the bik video files. The two intro movies are:

    data\fmv\logo.bik
    data\fmv\faction\game_intro.bik

I append .bak to the extension and I get no intro movies permanently.

Are you guys running mods? I seem to recall odd things happening when you do that. Like video settings won't stick around, and you have to redo them each time - I got around that by actually copying video settings into the mymod.cfg (use whatever the cfg for your mod is called) after I ended a play session. If you're trying to disable the videos in your primary cfg, then when you run the mod yes I think the game overwrites your main cfg, but it will correctly read the changes if you put them in the mod cfg instead.

Works great! no more logos or intro movie. I don't have to keep pressing escape =)
