Thread: UI help.

  1. #1

    Default UI help.

I have been trying to make a new Interface for my mod, but when ever I load the campaign, it loads, but all the buttons and faction icons are blanked out, like there is an Alpha Channel problem. Except my adobe photoshop does not read that there is alpha channels, and I do not have the slightest idea what is the matter.

    Please help,

You need a program that supports and displays the alpha channels, otherwise, when you edit the file it destroys the alpha channel.

You may be able to download an add-on for photoshop...that's what I use.

Thanks for your help. The trouble is I have photoshop, and it displays the alpha channels of the skins. Are the two things different?

there definitely are alpha's for those files in Photoshop Elements they show under Selection, load selection settings. If you are losing them I assume perhaps you're not saving tga's with enough depth, try to set it for 32 bit, tga's.

Still it doesn't work that way. I will try another idea I just got.

Sorry about that recent double post.

And the other idea I had did not work either. Any help would be much apppreciated.

I have adobe photoshop 7.0, with the dds plug-in. I am loading the interface from packs/data/UI/Roman/Interface.

    Am I missing something?

try using dds converter 2 tool to convert original UI to png
then modify it Your way in photoshop, and export it to dds or use DDSC2 to convert it back. Good luck.

I got the alphas to show. Makanyane had it right, I just didn't press the right button.

    Thank you!
