Timurids?

When do the Timurids appear? I know when the Mongols appear, but I haven't had the Timurids yet.
Are they hard to beat?

They appeared at some stage in the 1400s, I believe. And what do you mean "are they hard to beat?" - are they still around today? No, Tamerlane and his followers are long beaten.

Oh! You mean in M2TW?

They appear about 100 turns after the Mongols, and they can present major problems for the Russians, Turks, Byzantines, Poland and Hungary and anyone who happens to be in that area. Watch out for Elephants, bring plenty of Horse archers, spearmen and you should do ok!

The Mongols are beating me so hard in my Byzantine campaign. Just imagine what those Timurids will do, they are even worse and more powerful with their Elephant units! :(

I once did a map cheat when playing as Venice, and the Timurids beat the Mongols, Egyptians, and Turks, and the Byzantines were awfully close to defeat too. The Timurids are so powerful, its insane!
