EDIT: Just so everyone knows, there is an update on the last page.

Others have said this, but I can't help but mention how awesome it is to have a Samnite's point of view in this AAR. Keep up the good work, Count!

@ CaesarAugustus - I'm tempted to stay in Gaul, but I may need a consul with another legion to fight my way through it.
@ Owen the Mighty - Yeah I've had some great moments with these guys. I was reading back over Sardinia the other day and just had to laugh at how long it took me. I am still fighting battles ther with my fourth legion. As to the Makedonians - They have strted to become a real powerhouse. They own what they started with in Greece, most of Thrace and parts of Asia Minor.
@ Ecramer - Thank you![]()

I'm curious on how the Germans and Seleukids are doing in your game.

Well the Sweboz have sort of stalled at the Rhine. The Seleucids are fighting a stalemate against the Ptolies, are slightly losing in the East, but own the majority of Asia Minor and Rhodes :o

Carthage - No, I'm saving them.
The Po - No, each of teh cities has a full stack.
I really don't know where to go from here.

If only I had a consul or a proconsul, this whole thing would be awesome.
Though another Scipio... that sounds cool.

Are you at the polybian reforms?
Comon, the po will provide a good challange unlike the Carthaginians or Maks.
Not Polybian yet. I need the Po for that :P

Another thing you could do is to just send two legions with two generals to attack the Po. Let the second legion be the reinforcement and set it on autopilot. That'll give you an interesting, unplanned story.
EDIT: I just found your last update on the last page. Good job. Have you thought about naming your legions?

I still dont know...
Goto the last page and scroll down until you find it. I guarentee it is there. Its the one that has "Book 2 – Chapter 3 – A Second Attempt
240 – Summer to 236 – Summer – The Consulship of Pvblivs Cornelivs Lentvlvs Cavdinvs and Gaivs Licinivs Varvs" in big letters. Heck, just goto the last page and use the find function in your browser to find 'Chapter 3'!!!
If you can't be bothered to find it yourself, then I don't know why you bother reading AARs.

Hi, I just read this story and would like to say, that I enjoyed it very much. It's interesting to see all those Roman Genereals from the viewpoint of an ordinary soldier. I also liked the idea, to switch to a Samniteam guy with as grim attitude towards the romans in general. Keep on keeping on if your exams allow it!!!
My exams are finished, however I've been a bit buy over Easter, and my borther has been playing on the computer heaps, so not as much time.
But glad to hear that you enjoyed it![]()

Well I admit that I wasn't very cordial in that post and I didn't have the right to be snide and I'm sorry for that. But I do find it hard to believe someone who wants to enjoy the fullness of CA's wonderful AAR couldn't be bothered to find it after two people directed you to it. There was a nice surprise in it too.Originally Posted by K COSSACK

Ok ok... my apologies too.
(I really thought you were gonna flame the hell outa me!)
CA i have truly enjoyed your AAR..I've just spent most of the morning and early afternoon reading it from start to finish while sneaking in some work from time to time. It's difficult to be productive at work when there's a good EB AAR to read.Look forward to the next installment.
Hey CA. I'm loving your AAR. It's great work mate! I would only like to make a sugestion if you allow me the intrusion; I think you should focus more on the humanistic side of the campaign :) Make your characters make friends and such I'd love to see a Samnite (great idea taking this to the allied side of things btw) get friendish with a Gaul and the things that'd emerge from it (like the departure of a great friend in battle). I really love your AAR don't take this the wrong way.
Cheers...
