Default An observation about the voicemod

In my current Sweboz campaign I have fought a whole lot of rebels (and still fighting) and I have noticed that their units speak Greek (as when they say "the enemies are attacking" etc), but the rebels I am fighting are of course Germans. I am just letting the team know, in case it is a slip up, although I realise that it is very likely that only on voice mod can be used for the rebel faction, and not separate ones according to the nationality of each rebel army. :)

We currently have three voicemods in the game - Latin, Greek, and Gallic. At least for the Sweboz Greek is considered a "placeholder," because it is less jarring than Vanilla's "The rams are at the waaaaaaalls!"

Erm the Sweboz themselves use the Gallic voicemod, it is only that I have noticed the Germanic rebels around them use the Greek one, and I was wondering whether the rebels (eleutheroi) on the whole have to share a voicemod, or they can be given more appropriate ones according to where they are. I mean, even if there was a German voicemod, could the Germanic rebels use it alone, the Gallic rebels use the Gallic and so on?

It also seems to depend upon which culture the captain belongs to. For example, if you're AS and have a captain lead army, with the captain being someone from a Galatian Shock Infantry unit, you'll hear the Gallic Voice Mod.

Apart from that: each unit has it's own unit name stored in an audio format - this is what the unit shouts when you left click on it. And those names are played regardless of what culture your faction/ captain belongs to.

yes, the eleutheroi use the greek voicemod. But you may hear gallic voices, too.
The voices units are using are not setup by faction, they are setup individually for every unit. As aresult you can hear different voices in a battle with one faction

    As an for example:
If you play Karthadst in a siege battle(Karthadast are a good example cause they have a multinational army ) and order to ram the walls

If you order a Lybian unit (poeni citicen militia) to attack a wall, you hear the greek command
If you order an iberian unit (iberian caetratii) to attack a wall you hear the gallic command

Are more languages planned? The voice mod, along with the beautiful skins, got me interested in actually playing out the tactical battles more often.

Yep, definitely. It's being worked on right now for sure. Some parts of it will probably never get done though in my opinion - but some new ones are being worked on now even. We need to light a fire under the Carthaginian and Sabaean guys for sure, as well as the sarmatian and sweboz guys. People who are capable and knowledgable and serious about it and would like to help with those should let us know.

Heres a question, what accent do the Romans have

    English? spanish? both?

Good to have believable accents to immerse yourself in the game

Latin, maybe....... i doubt it was too similar to any modern language, but my bet is that the accent was closest to modern-day Italian.

Modern Spanish is more similar accent-wise to Latin than Italian is, strangely enough. Someone send me some text and I'll do a mod with my voice so you can see. In my Latin courses I always got good marks on pronouncing the words :) my professor was a latin / ancient greek guru.

We ask ourselves whether our names will echo through the ages... how bravely we fought, how fiercely we loved.

For curiosity's sake, can I use these voice mods in EB .74?
