    Default Limits...

    Does anyone know what MTW2's max number of factions and provinces are?

    Thanks

    Factions = 31 and Provinces = 199

    For the limit of 31 factions, if we wanted to remove them from the campaign, and add in 30 (keep the slave) new factions (say by DukeofSerbia's cloning method), would we just have to remove the old factions from the descr_sm_factions files? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    sorry, I've neglected to mention removing them from descr_strat as well. It doesn't let me edit, so to rephrase my question, in order to add in (say 30) of my own factions, do I have to remove the existing ones from descr_strat and descr_sm_factions?

    I'm pretty sure that you can just edit them to your liking. AFAIK You don not have to completely remove anything. Editing is easier anyway becaeuse it provides a structure.

    I've done a mixture so far. We did a quick test of the 31 before hand but now I'm adding in factions up to the 31 limit. I'm hesitant on total replacement of an existing faction (ie I just changed their names) although I think it would be neater.. but there is always the fear of something being hard coded (although if it was I'm assuming its with the papal states).

    I put all my original files in a seperate mod folder. So, I basically have a "vanilla" mod and I work with all of the original files for my new mod.
