How 'bout the 1.2 patch? Where should it be installed to. In the RTW folder of course, but where exactly? To the 1.1 version folder, perhaps, or to install it to a separate folder?

Exactly the same location you choosed to install EB 1.1 in. (As that location contains the required patched-to-1.5 "RTW.exe".)

I was wondering what to do during the step when you have to uninstall RTW, since I got it for buying ETW and got it via online code
Hello!
i am new with EB and i would like to see if somebody could help me
i have RTW patched to 1.5 and i've installed EB , and everything worked perfect but..
when i want to play custom battles i try to choose for example the Sweboz and when i want to choose my army there is a mixture of all the cultures there, and it is the same for all the factions there, i dont know if it is normal or it is something wrong with my game because some of the warriors that comes in the website( that is not working btw) doenst appear here, and there are mixed gauls, sweboz , africans, etc like if i had chose the freemen faction
somebody there could help me to know if that's how the game is or if it is something wrong? and maybe to help me to fix it?
i appreciate it so much
greetings!

Hey, I just installed Europa Barbarorum 1.0. I wanted to get the latest version straight off their website but for some reason it's down and I get redirected to some Go Daddy site. Anyway, I had to get this version at Gamespot, and I think it's old.
Do I need to download both the 1.1 and 1.2 patches to be up to date?
1.1 is standalone. 1.2 is a patch. This means that your 1.0 installer is no use when you want to get 1.2.
To get 1.2 download 1.1 and then 1.2. The website may be down, but the mirrors are still there. Both Filefront and the ORG (this very totalwar.org) should have those files so you can download directly from them instead.

Oh ok, thanks. So I might as well just get rid of the 1.0 version since I don't need it?
I need help installing this mod.
I tried what you said to do. I have a clean installation of Rome Total War (1.5) and Barbarian Invasion (1.6). I downloaded the v0.81a from the EB site, and followed the instructions from the installer. I told the computer to install it into a copy of the Rome Total War folder.
Everything worked well and the file installed just fine. The problem is that whenever I try to open it the computer locks up at the loading screen and I have to use control-alt-delete to bring up the task manager and end the process. Nothing else works except shutting down the computer manually from the CPU.
I've tried downloading several times, uninstalling and reinstalling the mod, installing directly into the original Rome Total War directory and none of those has worked. The only thing I have left to try is uninstall and reinstall Rome Total War and Barbarian Invasion then patch them up to 1.5 and 1.6 respectively, but first I have to uninstall EB (again), which will take about an hour, and then do that, and finally re-download EB, and try to install it into the Rome Total War folder (I'll try a copy first, and if it doesn't work again I'll try it in the original Rome Total War folder).
Any help would be readily appreciated, and if I am doing anything wrong with the installation please tell me so, as I probably missed it myself. I will write down everything that happens while the installation is occuring (with times and everything) so that if anything happens I can give a step-by-step guide to what I did, how I did it, and for how long it went on. Hopefully I can solve this, since this mod looks awesome and vanilla RTW just seems too unrealistic to me.
I gave the game about seven and a half minutes and it did nothing. When I brought the task manager up it showed the game as not responding, instead of running, which is what I should get if its still loading.
I'm going to try to uninstall and reinstall the game and mod, but have little hope for success.
Like I said, I'll keep a step by step log (with times) so that if it fails I can give a detailed account and know what I'm doing wrong. Sorry to bother you guys, but this is my last ditch atempt and I'm very desperate to fix this.
In the words of Muradin Bronzebeard "NOW I'M P***ED!!!".
Okay, I uninstalled the Rome Total War AND Barbarian Invasion Folders and deleted everything to do with them. Then I uninstalled EB and made sure there were no residual files left over. I made VERY sure of this. Then I re-installed Rome Total War, and checked the version. I have the RTW Gold Edition, which was patched to 1.5 out of the box. Having done this I proceeded to the Europa Barbarorum website and downloaded the mod from them. Then I opened the installer and proceeded to install the Europa Barbarorum modification on the SAME EXACT FOLDER I HAD INSTALLED RTW, not a copy of it, but THE EXACT SAME FOLDER. After it had installed I had the install shortcut and FAQ left over, so I decided to delete them. I deleted the FAQ successfully, but the installer wouldn't let me delete it. I got a message saying that something/one else was using it and would not allow me to delete the file. After This I had to shut down the computer because I was going out. When I returned I turned the computer on and found (as usual) that I could delete the installer file. Then I decided (knowing I would fail) to try out Europa Barbarorum and see if it could work. After three minutes the loading screen did not change (the medieval2 loading screen takes me less than a minute, and that is a much larger game (9gigs)), so I decided to Alt-Tab and try to bypass the loading screen that way (as I have seen mentioned that I could), but after one minute this would not work. I decided to bring up the task manager which took about a minute or so to come (though the monitor background was stuck on the EB loading screen). Then I ordered the computer to terminate the EB process (which for some reason showed up as RTW on the task manager instead of EB), which took inordinately long.
After that I decided to uninstall EB for possibly the last time and officially start to hate Europa Barbarorum for eternity or until someone comes up with a fix for my problem.
Three minutes isn't really that long of a time to wait for EB, especially for the initial load (RTW has to create some files the first time you start EB and it will take a while longer). If you are willing, I would suggest starting EB and letting it load for a long time. Go watch TV or something and come back in a half hour. If it hasn't loaded, then I'm pissed too.
Out of curiousity, what is your computer stats (specifically processor speed & RAM)?
