Hi dbarger58,
I beleive that it's an automatic process to get your men elected to the almighty office of consul. To check if anybody has got this high ranking office, all you have to do is search for the trait consul in a character's traits - this signifies that the man is consul - or the trait ex-consul which tells you that this man has been consul in the past. Hope this helps you, cheers!
Dawn is nature's way of telling you to go back to bed
Try that your men get as much "influence" as possible!!!!
And how pray tell is influenced best gained?Originally Posted by k_raso
One would presume by the generals/governers doing well(winning battles, and placing them in places where their traits best suit) and collecting and swaping the revelent retinue characters, to further the chances of the best hopes for success in their respective area's(grooming).
I keep looking at Rome for a campaign, although I am hesitant, because I am not keen on the look of the eary units(no offense to the relevent people).
The late legionaries(Imperial I think) look very nice IMO, but getting to them looks like a nigtmare(difficult) and so puts me off, still I might bite the bullet yet!
Has anyone ever achieved the Augustian reforms yet?
Bingo. Pure common sense.Originally Posted by Digby Tatham Warter

Do just that, send them to administrate an important city (Syrakousai or Rome) with high academy facilities, or make them win important battles against a determined enemy (Carthage or Makedonia are good choices). Then, your general will start earning laurels in no time. Much easier than earning stars if you ask me!![]()
Cheers!
I think that the command stars do indeed give attack bonuses. I fought against some Saka Rauka guys lead by a guy with 10command, 9experienc, and 122 body guards. Every enemy unit on the map just murdered my army. With 10 additional attack (if it does indeed do that), it triples (or more) the power of most archers.
I just reached the Imperial Era. I set the chance for getting them ahead fifty years, but by the time I got them it was only five years early.Originally Posted by Digby Tatham Warter
