I think it's because we are not really familiar with what kind of contest you're participating in. Is it general? Is it specific? Where does the viewpoint focus, social, military, economic? Is it going to ask what Frederick Barbarossa did or is the contest going to be more concerned with stuff like what kind of impact Feudalism dealt to Europe and the armaments of an average Gendarme; what's usually asked and what's usually answered. Oh, and I personally don't know a single history book like that -- I tend to not care about the name/author of the books and just plain read the texts -- and therefore useless. Others around the Monastery tend to, though.
