    Is that the version you plebs play?

    Also, a "comment" and not a "criticism" for the one (or ones) who did all that work to "father" those cards. Its a fantastic job --- but in the folder there is no "index" to help you find them (a word document or sum-such) and as they are only identified as numbers, its hard to find one specific card. I saw for example that most but NOT "all" of the Roman cards were grouped together -- but some others like the ped and eq extraordinarii are found singly and are well down the "list?"
    There is a reason for that and the reason is called the recruitment viewer (check a nearby thread). The reader needs the cards by unit ID (something used internally by EB) hence I labelled them that way. I would advise you to get the RV. If you don't want to do that look further in the doc folder for the recruitment maps. Those cards have both the names and the unit IDs on them. You can use them to crossreference. It is tedious I know, that's why I suggest you use the viewer.

    BTW: Freed slaves have no card as they are not recruitable.

    Oh.... I guess I thought these cards were a complete "intelligence source" of all units in the game, as it were, not just the ones that a player could recruit, albeit, if the slaves are the ONLY unit that one can't recruit, only the AI, then I guess... OtoH, its only "one more card," isn't it? Just asking....

    OK, as to the viewer-business. I have downloaded the viewer now, but have not had time to install it, as I have a few "little things" in the way... I owe the Director of the college's Research Center my draft of a "commentary" to append to a Research Fellow's monograph, and I also owe a chapter of my PhD dissertation (or "thesis" as you-all would say) to my supervisor. I'll try to do that (the installation I mean) this weekend, when I take a break and play another few turns of the screw, errrr, I mean of the game...

    PS, Arkatreides: Howz the WX in the shire? Once lived for a few days (about 1000) in nearby "Huntingdonshire." Cheers!

    I think I am slowly getting the hang of the Recruit Viewer. Question: As the Romani I see I am supposed to be able to recruit "native" units called "Arrow Throwers" at MIC-4, through-out Italy. I am at MIC-4 generally, MIC-5 in Rome and Capua, can recruit the Ped. (MIC-4) et Eq. (MIC-5) Extraordianri, but I am not seeing any arrow-throwing-dudes in my AO, nor do I see any arrow-throwers in the card folder either. Am I doing something wrong?

    Ditto, I see no artillery. No 1 Talent stone projectors & various arrow projectors in Massila. I own it, and in fact am at MIC-5 there too, as I can recruit Hellenic Merc' Generals in town... So again, what am I doing; something wrong?

    Thanks!

    You need "complex: 2" to build them. If you look the other units that require complex 2 you'll see they are all post-marian units; I'd guess arrow/stone throwers require marian reforms to be built.

    Question Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use

    Well, I am slowly feeling my way along the Recruit Viewer. The more I learn about using it FROM using it, the cooler it is!! Kudos to those who built it!!

    New Questions;

    1st: There is not a card-set for the "regional" units that the Romans can recruit? I note the Greeks have a wide selection inside their two sets (albeit some units do seem to be missing form them just the same -- e.g. "Karalians?").

    2nd: Lucanians? The Romans can wander Italy vacuuming them up if "they're" prepared to pay the out-on-the-road "mercenary" costs, but they can not recruit them inside any Italian town?
