For those of you who can't seem to get the Hotfix file to work, here is the link to the zip file we used for the last internal build. It has all the same files (except the Readme), and so I'd be interested if this somehow works for you. The file is designed to be installed into the RTW Root directory (i.e the one above "EB") and will automatically place all files in the correct folders.
WARNING - If you are a zip file noob and the above information is unclear and you need explicit handholding, don't even try this. Just get the Full V.81a Installation (@ 370MB) and install it on a clean RTW 1.5 build.
NOTE: Anybody who can't get the hotfix to work. If the above method DOES work, please let us know. Also, if it DOESN'T work, please report that (and whether the error message changed)

Hey EB Team, I just wanted to thank you for your devotion to this project. I forwarded your work to a classics professor of mine here at Dartmouth and he was, to say the least, impressed with what you've done. In fact, Dartmouth is offering some sort of scholarship work for the upcoming class of juniors next year in video games based on the classical age and I believe some kids will be playing your mod for it. Thanks for your devotion to your fans!!
Now THAT is one of the reasons we do this! Really great to hear! (especially today)Originally Posted by KarstenChu

I downloaded the hotfix over my previous v.8.1 and it seems to work just fine ... the install guide helped me through, you just have to find your own EB file if you changed it from the original rome total war as I did. Did I have to delete the map again it didn't say so and worked so should I now?
Thanks Foot!
Thanks to the entire EB team by the way!

I had the issue at first, but found a way around, no biggie. Please don't loose heart....it's really great that you guys take the time to release these fixes to the user community.Originally Posted by Kull

It seems like the issue has been resolved, but when it says cannot find the battlefield model for the camled(is that what it is?), the model for the camels is missing in the descr_model_battle file. So just put it in there, and it should work.
I may be showing up too late to help, and I may be wrong, but from my experiences, it is most likely missing in descr_model_battle. So check.

Thanks, but that is definitely not the issue. If we had something missing in DMB, then the hotfix would have broken the mod during internal testing. Plus there's a host of different "mssing files" being reported, and most people aren't having any problem at all. So it seems to be installation issues, and probably a bunch of different ones at that.Originally Posted by Meghas Alexandros

I can report a gimped install, I'm afraid and I installed EB 0.81a on top of 0.81, with an old internal build on top of that but otherwise, as you know, it was a virgin install.
So the install in gimped and there's no uninstall, so I'm wiping EB off and starting again with the full download. My shortcut also dissapeared to be replaced by a link to the FAQ.
Edit: I can't get the unistall option, looks like 0.81a removed my build.

Uhh do I really have to make a huge copy of my RTW folder when installing?
What is the risk if it install EB over RTW without copying the folder?
Thanks.

Keeping a clean RTW 1.5 handy for copying purposes is great, especially if you like to mod and alter the build. That way if you blow it up, it's easy to trash the whole thing and creat a new build without having to go through the whole uninstall reinstall thing. Also good for those who play multiple mods or even like to have a clean EB build alongside the one they are tweaking. But if you only play EB, and don't do much to it, and it's already very clean, then go ahead and overwrite your basic RTW build.Originally Posted by fallen851

Kull, how long have you been awake? Anyway, I'm installing the full version now. It still won't show the installing progress, it vanished again after pressing install, but there are some crazy noises coming from the CPU so I guess it's working on it in the backround. That's my scientific analysis of it... Kull get some sleep.
Thanks, harddrive space is at a premium on my system since I only have 40 gig drive.Originally Posted by Kull

I don't know how much it would help, but try Rarring or Zipping it instead of copying. It compresses it somewhat.Originally Posted by fallen851
I installed the hotfix 3 times over a clean rtw 1.5 + eb 0.81(full), all 3 times it removed almost completly eb0.81 (from 3,65 gb to 2,42 gb).
Install of the hotfix took approx. 25 min. and it was removing files for about 15 min. Maybe the guy's who installed the hotfix (via the installer ) and it worked right were doing this over a rtw 1.5 + eb 0.80 + eb 0.81 patch or rtw + bi.
I don't know if this is helping , but you never know ( it's strange that the same hotfix is working for one and notfor the other) I followed all instructions by the book and couldnt get it to work.
The full install 0.81a is working fine.
Thanks eb-members for your quick replies and for doing such a great job with this mod, it's fantastic.
hmm..i have even install the (zip) patch and it works fine atm...i have now year 193 roman campaigne, my save game works and no crash...patch is working since i have now in the other 5 Italian City´s Principes that were not recruitable before (polybian reforms atm) so i think its working even with savegames that were made before.

YEAH!!! I wish you would release all patches in this form. I understand why you don't. But, they are just so much faster to DL and so much easier.Note: The hotfix file ("EB FTP Patch") has been removed until such time as we can get it working properly (in many cases it seems to delete the entire EB file set instead of upgrading it). So as an interim step, here is the link to the zip file we used for the last internal build. It has all the same files (except the Readme), and it should work for anybody who hasn't already used the previous Hotfix installer. The zip file is designed to be installed into the RTW Root directory (i.e the one above "EB") and will automatically place all files in the correct folders.
Anyhoo, thanks EB Team! Kudos!

I used the zip file, and it worked like a charm, i saved it here:
C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War and then i extracted the files there. It even made the shortcut.
So...it seems that the zip works...
I have downloaded the patch, the full and the zip,but i wonder wich of all this can work...
I think that with zip No one face a problem...Is that right?
They have different purposes:Originally Posted by Alkiviadis

2) The Patch is no longer available - if you downloaded it, don't use it.
3) The zip is designed to go on top of a working EB v.81 build.

Sorry, bit of a side question but it refers back to something posted earlier. A dutch guy asked about how finished EB was overall, and I understand the huge scope of this project means EB is a work in progress. I was just wondering if the EB team felt they would reach a final version or if because of the way things change over time this would always be a constant Mod?
Looked at them. They work.

Thanks for the quick response
I forget where, but someone once said that our website was blacklisted on some shady filtering application as a "peer-to-peer poisoner" or some such nonsense. Perhaps you have got one of those installed? We like to track the number of downloads, so we prefer if you get the links to work rather than post an alternate file.
