I really like the new KH general's bodyguard. These are real men - no more dawdling behind the main body, and no quitting the field at speed on fancy horses if things go badly.

Unfortunately Generals can now receive seige equipment. If your General gets a ladder or a seige tower, then he cannot drop the equipment because the rally button takes precedence.

So there is no option - it's over the wall or die! Of course he could try to withdraw still carrying his ladder, but I think the shame would be unbearable. (Maybe the enemy would laugh themselves to death?)

I built quite a lot of ladders for my capture of Corinth in order to be able to spread the defense and avoid the killer slingers on the wall. So my general turned out to have one of the ladders that was not going to be needed. Imagine my surprise when I discovered he was going to have to go over the wall anyway,

I don't expect this is fixable - even if you could make generals unable to use seige equipment, I am not sure it would be an improvement (after all if Alexander can climb ladders in India then my Spartan nobility should be able to manage it in Hellas).

I decided to post anyway because I found the situation so funny. It's really good to still be surprised by RTW even after two and a half years. All praise the mighty E.B.

Has anyone else noticed any interesting side-effects of E.B. changes?
