Getting paid to spank the monkey ... at a morgue

Was it good government practice for morgue staffers to provide the King County medical examiner with samples of their sperm at $20 a pop? The voluntary ejaculations were a bit unseemly, a new county investigations report reveals, but at least the self-abuse wasn't an abuse of authority. [...]

A whistle-blower had raised the question of Chief Medical Examiner Richard Harruff's sperm-gathering in a 2007 complaint, but it wasn't until two weeks ago that the county Ombudsman's Office issued its report, along with findings on whether or not the ME's office had properly handled brain tissue and fetal remains.

The morgue, located in a corner of Harborview Medical Center on Pill Hill, has long been a controversial workplace where employees have sued over sexual harassment and unusual practices. The new ombudsman's report, issued January 29, looked into some of those issues, first raised in a 16-page complaint filed in August, 2007 by former ME staffer Robinette Struckel.

The sperm-donation practice was at the top of her list. It seemed, at the least she said, inappropriate to ask fellow workers to masturbate--perhaps on county time--and ejaculate into a specimen catcher in return for a cash award from the boss.

But the office of ombudsman Amy Calderwood determined no harm was done.

Contact Fragony directly for picture if you wish to see it. Image is (to all appearances) the gore spattered results of an eagle having hit an aircraft and punctured the fuselage. Please note, the image is quite graphic. SF

Thanks for that tasteless, disgusting and unexplained picture, Frag. Are you sure you didn't mean to post that at 4chan instead?

Meanwhile, everybody look out for CRABZILLA.

The crabs are commonly found in the Pacific in 1,000 ft (300m) deep waters but have been known to live deeper.

Curator Graham Burrows said: "It is rumoured these crabs can grow as big as four metres, big enough to straddle a car.

"He will absolutely dwarf the other crabs in there, but he's not aggressive and they should have nothing to worry about."

The crustacean has been flown to the UK en route to a permanent home in Belgium from Japan and has been quarantined in Dorset.

Well, Fragony, I'd put that in spoiler tags and a warning next to it.

And Lemur, my guess is that it hit the cockpit window of some aircraft.

    That's a nice crab, btw.

In honor of Crazed Rabbit: The World's Biggest Bunny

As the son of the world's biggest bunny, it was always likely that Ralph the rabbit was going to be a big buck.

But he has well and truly proved a chip off the old block after breaking the record set by his mother Amy - weighing in at more than three stone.

Ralph, a continental giant rabbit, is just 12 months old but already weighs more than Amy did before her death in 2009.

Owner Pauline Grant relies on handouts from neighbours to feed Ralph - who weighs more than an average three-year-old child and has already become too heavy for her to lift.

'He is just so big. You do not fully realise until you pick him up and he has quite the appetite,' she said.

'It really hits us in the pocket having to feed him but thankfully Ralph is so famous in the area people stop me in supermarkets and offer to fit the bill.'

'I have no idea how big he is going to get, it could be a ridiculous size but everyone loves him and he laps up the attention.'

Pauline is waiting on Guinness World Records to confirm Ralph as the biggest rabbit in the world after they changed their rules on measuring animals for size.

Ralph's dad Roberto is also a previous record holder for the world's biggest rabbit after weighting in at 35lb and measuring 3ft 1inches.

If you were a diplomat, what would happen if your name meant, in a major language, something descriptive about the size of your genitalia? Would this be a problem if you wanted to be ambassador where people spoke said major language?
Ambassador rejected because of boastful genital related name

If you want to post a penis-related diplomacy story, you'd better get up pretty early in the morning if you want to get it ahead of lemur.

What the hell? Did he have fish in his pockets or something? I've never seen the slightest bit of aggression from a pelican, except for one time when one decided to take a giant dump in front of a family of tourists.
