    Cool Indian Kataphract Elephant Bug

both armored and the unarmored Indian elephants in EB uses same model and texture
we'll have to change it look real.

Is possible we import the elephant models from RTR and use it in EB...

It is possible, but require permission from both mods.

The team is planning on making unique, new skins for all of the elephants.

IIRC one the elephants skins made for EB 0.8 got lost. I suppose it's this one.

The guy who made those disappeared and he didn't submit models or skins for his creations...a shame really.

New elephant models are in the works, but when...dunno.

Wink Re: Indian Kataphract Elephant Bug

The Elephants should look like this
    here are some models

    Indian Elephants

    African Elephants

There is also another historical inaccuracy
Only Hindus Pattisainya is available in EB
there should also be Hindus Shulsainya (The once like Pattisainya but with Armour, Round Shield and Longer Spear, and a Mace as a secondary weapon

    Have a Look at this

Here you can see some Shulsainya behind those generals

I sincerely hope EB_elephantes would NEVER look like Warhammer figurines.

Actually, MiniMe successfully DID a "EB_minimod of Armoured Elephantes"

Yesyesyes, my precious, now MiniMe has those lovely giant four-archers-per-elephant walking dreadnoughts in his GrandEpeirosCampaigns =)

Sounds like the tanks from vanilla...
They were silly. The armoured ones were virtually indestructible.

I had a battle against the Ptolies yesterday where my pitifull army of 8 cohorts met two full stacks of ptolies, including some elephants with archers. The stupid creatures did one charge through two of my units, then routed (not amok, but from fear) and left the battle. Had they stayed I would probably have lost the battle.
As it was I paused the battle and went to have my dinner. Imagine my surprise when I returned to find the battle summary screen - clear victory. Somehow I hadnt paused it, and my legionaires went on to win the battle without a general directing them!

Anyway, Seleukids really had those tanks with four archers, they were mentioned somewhere.

Poor stupid AI is never good at using elephants, he doesn't know how to protect them from skirmishers, and he doesn't understand that they are cavalry, not infantry, never melee, charge only.

For one placeholder, you could use the ones from Webbird Xmasbox 3 - adds some variety if nothing else. maximusminimus' Carthaginian pack has a couple of good ones too. They all use the vanilla model bases so you'll just have to change the texture reference.

I incidentally noticed that the elephant textures seem to be pathed wrong in the 0.81a DMB - they seem to refer to the vanilla data/models/unit/textures folder rather than the EB one. Oh, and the forest elephants just use the kinda bleh vanilla textures. Me, I changed the lot in my copy.

"Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

Actually, MiniMe successfully DID a "EB_minimod of RTR Armoured Elephantes imported in EB 0.8.0, 0.8.1., 0.8.1a", they are completely compatible with EB

The sad thing, however is that MiniMe is quite a noob and hasn't any idea how to share it with people via internet.

So if anyone with modding experience is interested, pm MiniMe, I'll send you Ze Files since I'm myself unable to make an installer =)

RTW, 167 BC: Rome expels Greek philosophers after the Lex Fannia law is passed. This bans the effete and nasty Greek practice of 'philosophy' in favour of more manly, properly Roman pursuits that don't involve quite so much thinking.
