How do i download this mod or any other mod for rome total war? Where do i put the download at? Will the download erase any of the saved game or other thing on my game? How do i play the mod in the game? If i download more than 1 mod, will it affect the other?

How do i download this mod or any other mod for rome total war?

You can download the great EB 0.81a (latest release) here. May I ask which other mods you wish to download?

Where do i put the download at?

You can place the downloaded file where ever you like, although placing it in "My Documents" is what I always do, just open it up and follow the instructions. If you are having trouble installing EB then this guide by the great Tellos Athenios could, hopefully, help you.

Will the download erase any of the saved game or other thing on my game?

Don't worry! EB does nothing to your saved game data in your original Rome: Total War. EB uses the mod switcher extension so it doesn't overwrite any Rome: Total War files excluding the original loading bar - so you can play the modification and the original game at the same time.

How do i play the mod in the game?

Simple! Just open up EB through the shortcut on your desktop and away you play!

If i download more than 1 mod, will it affect the other?

This depends on which modification - modifications that also use the mod switcher extension will work in almost total harmony - the only problem being that the loading bar may be messed up in the one that you installed first. Modifications that don't use the mod switcher extension will not work with any other modifications for that game. In that case you either have to copy and paste your Rome: Total War folder or use this handy tool - the mod switcher - to make them compatible - the former is easier if you have plenty of hard-drive space yet, if you don't, like me, then the mod switcher will be easier.

(Make a back up of your newly installed RTW. To do so, create a new folder outside of the folder which you installed RTW in, and copy your RTW folder to that folder. Now, you basically should have two folders containing the whole RTW install) said by Tellos Athenaios.

Do i need to do this step?

The step which you have specified, although I would strongly recommend that you follow it, is not critical to the EB installation. Yet, however, it helps you quite a bit if you mess up the installation by providing you with a good working back-up copy that you can rescue - this saves you from having to re-install vanilla Rome: Total War right from the beginning again.

I have a question about the game..........

Why did i have to wait a long time for the screen to load finish until the selection screen.( abt 4 min) , Any of you have this problem or only i have this problem !!

Sadly, EB has huge and confusing data and script files that the game has to attempt to de-code before it can run. Since they are much more complicated than R:TW vanilla the game takes allot longer to load up and, unfortunately, there is little you can do to resolve it without parting with your money. However, you can attempt to close down exess services, yet this still does little for the loading speeds. If you do desire to part with your hard-earned money then you can attempt upgrading your computer to higher specifications or purchasing a newer and higher grade PC - this drastically increses you performance, yet also can be very expensive. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, good luck with EB, cheers!

1. Is there a way to hire generals somehow ( I do know someone posted this already, I just didn't find.)
2. Are there any folks amoung You, guys being in love with Hannibal Barka? EB (the only mod) gives such a thrill about it( thanks to the team )... Are there any special threads for such guys/girls. So, could You direct me to such people or smth, I'm a philologist dealing with phoen. lang.. Allways cool to meet a person holding the same views
3. Are there any avatars for women in an accessible library? Can't find anything.

1- The "First Cohorts" mini-mod contains recruitable generals (not sure for how many factions though).
2- I'm a fan of Rome, so the Barcas are my enemy.
3- I think their are some female avatars in the ShogunTW pictures.

2.I don't think so, but you could probably start your own thread in the monastery.
3.Yes there are, but you can only use a few avatars until you become a full member.

Hey, I'm having a problem playing. I downloaded it and everything, but I get confused with the whole copying the file into the same folder and stuff. And then when i click on the EB icon on my desktop, it says that its searching for the shortcut, but then can't find it. Like I said, the copying folder part is confusing, so could anyone just explain to me EXACTLY what i should do during that step( what i should name it, how, where, etc). I really want to play it but seem to be unable to do this by myself haha. Thanks!!

You don't have to copy anything uless you want to play multiple mods at once or want an untouched RTW for reinstall, etc.

When I shortcut can't find RTW, it usually means that you installed EB to a different folder than RTW. Depending on what version you have the defaults are:
C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Rome - Total War\
C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\

Find out which one you have, then uninstall EB (it might take a while and seem to freeze when uninstalling, just give it time). Then reinstall EB, make sure you direct it to the folder that you have.
