Middle Earth Mod or Release.... OR BETTER

I may be way out of my depth here, but is there any talk of a middle earth style total war in the pipeline? even a mod. I'm not all that bothered about the lord of the rings, I just think that everyone is saying MTW2 is going to be the final achievement of CA, but yet they can appeal to a massively massively larger audience and therefore afford a much larger budget if they attack something like that. Total war is probably the only game that could make it happen. Except civilization, but that wouldn't have the same epic feel as a Middle earth style slug out. I have seen a video for a Rome Total War mod for the same idea, but Rome is almost gone now, there's a whole new level to play at (somewhat.) But if they do make anything else in the Total War Series I just hope the producers and creators come along and do some quality research on these forums and find out exactly what the players want. not just speculating and patronising us with cool new concepts. I dunno about anyone else, but i want gameplay and relapse addiction over graphics any day. I wanna feel like i'm in the game not watching it. God I hope others agree. Please let me know if you know of any new projects etc

Buy Rome, Play Fourth Age Total War. It's an excellent mod and very interesting to play (plus you get RTW at a budget nowadays).
CA will never do this because they won't buy the rights, and if anything happens with MTW2 for that theme mod-wise, it'll take at least a year before it's out.

Surely Sega would have to buy the rights, then contract with CA to do the game. At present, as we all know, EA own the rights to LotR games based on both the books and films. It is ironic that only a short while before LotR became hot property EA offloaded CA to Activision.

anyway about the mod , Rome has a mod and soon another will be released.
this are quality mods and worth the job that it taken.

although i am sure this mods will look better on medieval 2 engine the crew
members of this mods have lives and they work except modding.
against game creators which it is their job.

so if you looking for MTW 2 mod check here in 2008 :D.

now about the EA rights , EA did some good games I can't hide the fact i liked
the first Battle for Middle Earth , which was a great game.
but it wasn't epic as lord of the rings , the gameplay it self just couldn't give
the epic feeling in BFME 2 they tried to give the epic feeling and failed
and in the way destroyed the Lord of the rings world in making Galadriel as a
super unit while Gandalf is weaker ? a wizard and a simple elf ? anything to
compare ? maybe using Gandalf the white against Sauron.
and what with the lies that they read the books , EA didn't check the books for
a second otherwise they wouldn't add Galadriel and Arwen into the game
since they barely done anything. also whats with creating female heroes.
sorry but this world was Tolkin's world and this is over destroying it.
and so there is many other complaints that i can throw but my point was
that if CA had got lord of the rings rights i am sure they could do a better
epic game , and i prefer the campaign map of total war then a stupid mod
for 1v1 on middle earth.

so I hope that CA will get the rights to make a lord of the rings game
i am sure that they can work on heroes side as EA done.
