It's launching 8.1a with BI.exe. It's lauching fine but I have a question. A provincial campaign is on the main menu screen that has " Copy of Imperial campaign" campaign in it. They both work. Is there one I'm supposed to use over the other? Or did I goof up somewhere?

Mine only works with Provincial Campaigns.

I followed these instructions posted Oleos. I'm not complaining as they both work ( thanks Oleos ). But yea it's bit odd.
EB with BI:
- have a proper 1.6 BI with EB
- Make a shortcut with a targetline:
Code:
"your install folder\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err
- make a copy of
Code:
your install folder\eb\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campai gn
and rename that copy to barbarian_invasion (you should now have two folders in that location)
- make a copy of
Code:
your install folder\eb\data\text\imperial_campaign_regions_and_ settlement_names.txt
and rename that copy to: barbarian_invasion_regions_and_settlement_names.tx t.
-delete
Code:
your install folder\eb\data\world\maps\base\map.rwm
I use the EB main campaign because the provincial campaign only allows normal unit sizes. Apart from that, I haven't noticed any difference.
If I understand correctly, you have two folders in this location:
your install folder\eb\data\world\maps\campaign
- imperial_campaign
- copy of imperial_campaign
you should rename the second to barbarian_invasion.
But anyway, just use the main campaign from the menu instead of the provincial_campaign. The main campaign allows you to set options before the start and generally works better.
No, I think he means, you can choose ( in the main menu ) between eb main campaign and provincial campaign ( only provincial campaign works : the other one says choose an item (or something like that ) from the list below )
But when you choose provincial campaign you get two choices : Barbarian campaign and again EB main campaign . They play both and appear the same.
The question is : is there a difference between these two and which one shall we choose?
( right now I'm playing the EB main campaign (thus not the barbarian) but AI is not as aggressive as I had hoped for)

Oleo please correct me if I'm wrong.
MacLiam - If you launch Eb with Bi.exe and you go to the options screen it should say 1.6 in the corner. And you will still be playing 1.6 if you play the main EB Campaign. So you should check that cause you might be playing with 1.6 already.
My mistake was I made a barbarian_Invasion copy but left a "copy of Imperial_Campaign" there as well accidentally. So I had three folders there, I just erased the copy. I don't think the change affected it anyway though cause it says on the option screen that it's 1.6 and it did before as well.
Yes it says 1.6
But still can choose between barbarian campaign and EB main campaign when you choose provincial campaign. Is there a difference?
( ps. I have 2 folders barbarian inv. / imperial campaqign no copies anymore)
campaqign ? quess I'm getting tired .

What I'm saying is ( And I'm hoping someone will post and confirm this) that if you launch with bi.exe then you are playing 1.6 no matter what campaign you play. It's launching with bi.exe that's the thing.
In other words when I launch with my regular EB shortcut it's 1.5.
with the BI shortcut it's 1.6
But I agree it was a bit confusing having the two options on the main screen and not knowing which to use.

EDIT: nevermind, I should have read further...

When I launch a campaign, I get back on the menu, without even a loading screen.
When I get back to Windows, I have apparently a problem with the pronvince of Adiabene, who doesn't exist anymore.
Yes, I have done evreything exposed there...

Sounds like a corrupted install...
Pelopidas 00:50 03-16-2007
Now it says it can't creat a script.
Yes, before you ask, I tried the provincial campaign :]
Pelopidas 00:52 03-16-2007
And how can y fix a corrupted install ?
How could it happen ?
Xtiaan72 00:55 03-16-2007
It sucks but it sounds like you need to do a clean install..
Did you upgrade with the full installer or the patch?
Pelopidas 00:57 03-16-2007
I have the Gold Edition...:/
Doesn't need to upgrade and everything, theorically.
EB 0.81a worked perfectly, before I try this. tsss...nasty me...

Well, I recommend a clean install. The Bi exe really plays better so if you get it working it will totally be worth it.

That error should be fixed after doing these two things:
