    Default King James I

I am doing a project for my European History class, and I chose King James I. I could get extra credit for dressing up like him.

    So my question is...

Can I wear a kilt and get away with it?
    Maybe a ?

It's going to be a kilt, sporran, stockings, belt, button up shirt, and black coat.
While not very authentic, I think the kilt would be fun to wear. However, would he have done so?

    Have you just been dumped?

I ask because it's usually something like that which causes outbursts like this, needless to say I dissagree completely.

I by far am no expert. However, if you want you could get away with it I'm sure. Although I don't think the scottish royalty were in the habit of wearing the traditional "scottish" attire. However, I may be completely wrong on this.

Do you think the Golden Rule should apply to masochists as well?

He walked with a rolling gait, and his hand was ever upon his codpiece.

Dress up in the common dress of the day, perhaps with a stylish homosexual flare, then simply walk funny, and fondle you'reself. Also, be very uncouth.

Also, I highly recommend Graves and Silcock when studying Elizabeth and the Silly Scotsmen. It's heavy reading, but by gosh is it fun!

Hey guys - what are you all trying to say about me?????

I must say my research into James for the 17th Century interactive was very enligthening - to us English James is a bit of a nonentity, only famous for somebody trying to blow him up and laying the seeds of the English Civil War. In reality he was a bit of an intellectual, was obviously sexualy confused - distinct homosexual tendencies, but campaigned vigorously against sodomy - and had a real downer on witches. Finally, I don't think James would wear a kilt - a dress in private maybe - but not a kilt - but hey, Marshall, if you want an excuse for slipping on a tartan skirt then I say go for it!!
