My devastation.

Well, my computer crashed... or shall I say I crashed my computer. Folks, never try to turn off your PC while it's loading up! Now I know.

In any case, I lost everything of course. Just reinstalled Windows and drivers and all that. Most devastating loss? You guessed it. Europa Barbarorum. Just went out and bought a flash drive on which I shall always keep my porn and EB saves henceforth. Never again damnit! Never again.....

I was in the middle of an excellent Sweboz campaign. I had just united all the tribes (except the little island to the north) and had a fully fledged Germanic kingdom on my hands. Herowulfaz was, well, a hero. King of kings..... *sheds a tear* I'm dying inside right now folks, seriously. Economy was booming, I had warriors from all tribes in a standing army, ready to go.

Of course, in dramas such as these, timing is crucial. In this case, it was the first transgression of the Auedi tribes, sieging my western-most town. Well, I had seen the well-sized warband making its way north, so my man in charge there had hired up a bunch of mercenaries and was ready to go. Of course, the save was made right before the first big battle in what was sure to be an intense war....... but alas, that battle was never to be..... *breaks down*

Of course EB was the first thing reinstalled on my computer. Now, I am charged with the task of recreating this kingdom, and continuing where I left off. But I can't bear going through the 20 years I so lovingly did the first time around, again. So I'm hoping for a shortcut. How can I go about doing this? I'm thinking I need cheats. Lots of them. Like auto-victories, quick troop training and structure building. Maybe some money.

I feel terrible about it, but I just don't see an alternative. I was considering playing another faction, KH perhaps, but I started looking at the thread with the unit playing cards, and the Sweboz just wouldn't let go of my heartstrings. What do you folks think? Should I cheat my way back to where I left off? Or maybe just do it all over again (which I really don't feel like)? Or go with another faction. If I do cheat, I'm gonna' need to find all those threads I thought I'd never need, showing the auto-whatever cheats.

I just.... don't.... know anymore......


P.S.
I really hope Sweboz recruitment is fixed soon. I've never even seen (more than) half the units that apparently exist, looking at the unit card thread.

Dilemma. I say go for another faction far far away (Saba, Saka, Baktria?). Cheating your way there won't be the same (like giving a girl a love potion to like you). On the other hand it depends what you're after. A quick cheap thrill perhaps?

Yeah... that's the reason I'm not thrilled about the cheating option. But that love potion, cheap thrill sounds pretty good. Maybe that'll cheer me up. (But piss off my gf)

Well, I went with Koinon Hellenon. I'm coming to the close of the first year, it's already a fun campaign. The main reason I was dissuaded from another Sweboz campaign was the recruitment issues. I guess the faction doesn't feel quite complete, as opposed to the KH which are as full as any faction in the game as of now. Anyhoo, a fun campaign is to come I'm sure.

Well, my suggestion to prevent that is to partition your drive in two, a windows drive and a game/storage drive. Whenever you need to reinstall windows, all you need to do is format your windows drive and reinstall ^_^.
