What output have you enabled on the 360?

It states the TV is 1280x720 which makes it 720p... That should work if you select the appropriate resolution in the 360 config...

What type of connection (cable) are you using?

I have a Sony LCD HDTV and am using the standard HD Component Video connector and it all (my 360 that is) runs fine at either 720p or 1080i... Now need to fiddle with anything...

How do you know the issue is frequency? does the 360 tell you?

What connection are you using for the PC?

Just using plain VGA cable for pc, and using the standard hd cable that comes with the 360

It wont let me play 60hz games, yet i bought the tv to play my 60hz games

Well, this is where is gets odd... TV's are 60Hz..

Interlaced is when it draws even lines in one pas and odd lines in the second pass resulting in 30FPS. Progressive Scanning is where is draws all linesevery cycle. because TV is recorded in 30FPS it draws every frame twice...

To be honest with 360 should work on any TV, HD or not as it supported 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i (even 1080p I think after one of the console updates)... Do none of them work?

What actually happens when you try using the 360??

    Right... Still confused...

The 360 work at 720p right? Does that include playing games on it and such?

When you refer to 60Hz games do you mean like imports?

It your TV multi-format? PAL and NTSC... PAL is 50Hz and NTSC 60Hz I believe...

Hmmm... Do then 60Hz games work on your friend's 360??

Ok, looks like your TV doesn't have a component input, only HDMI (although that might just be a rubbish description). So what cables do you actually plug it in with? SCART?

Look there, try the 1080i setting. Via the VGA input. Or something.

Odd tv there. Dangers of buying from Argos...

For me I use Component... I am in the US and they don't really have SCART over here. The HDMI input is what I use for the PC (and HD Digital Cable)...

You are right, odd TV... So it's working now then?

Not sure if this will help, but ...

My paper yesterday had a few pages on the three new consoles, comparing them and giving an overview of what they offer because of the PS3 launch tomorrow. A page and a half was devoted to TVs, cabling, and what all the jargon meant. In the xbox's section it said that some TVs are touchy about accepting HD signals from some cables. While the article said that the offical cable has the best chance of working with any given TV, it did say that some rare TVs don't like it.

So if you can find a different make of cable it might be worth a try.

    SCART only supports SD anyway...

Component should be ok. You can definitely normally pipe HD stuff through that.
