Problem with very hard is that auto-resolving seems to be very biased towards the enemy, forcing you to fight otherwise worthless battles.

I have had rebels besiege towns on a campaign difficulty of Hard, but they do so infrequently.
Yes I have had this also.Originally Posted by abou
My campaign is Hard/Hard, I have put the battles on Hard, because from my older campaigns, my experience is that by the time my veteran armies get silver/gold chevrons from their many scraps, that the opposition's armies can no longer put up a worth while stand.
So although the Hard setting at the beginning means your weak starting forces are somewhat delicate, the game has to be thought about from a long term perspective.
Auto_win is excellent once you have to fight multiple battles per turn; it saves so many hours of time fighting battles you know you'd win anyway.Originally Posted by JeffBag
Oh, does the difficulty level (battle or strategical) have any affect on the amount of casualties after battle the A.I heals if it win? It's pretty absurd at times.
While we are on the subject, I would like to know if the battle or strategical difficulty level, effects the amount of my casualties recovering, after I actually fight a battle(campaign)?Originally Posted by Veris
Also if there is any difference between which of the four medic types(Herbalist/ Docter/Churgeon/Physician and also a few named characters) you can have in your retinue, regarding the amount of my casualties recovering?
At times the amounts recovering seem pretty much random or I don't understand the factors.
Cheers.
I've seen the AI ressurect whole units on VH without Docs and they seem to able to raise around 90% of thier units but I don't have a comparison since I never play below VH campaign.
I believe cavalry has a better chance of healing than infantry due to some inherent bonus. It makes sense since the horse will probably go down before the rider... Also, missiles casualties seem to recover abit more than melee casualties.
Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.
