Hmmm I think I am gona work on both, a little stronger on the modeling texture skinning stuff like that.
I have no problem with all this stuff really, like I said before I got a computer programing guru dad that is more than willing to help me with the programing and stuff.
My dad also has a crap load of computer programing photoshop flash player programs just lieing around that were given to him, so I have the necessary tools to make it all work out.
Well, skinning is maybe not the best part to start off.
The easiest possible thing is maybe to edit army starting positions and compositions in data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt or change a few buildings that settlements have.
I know there's no real "how to start modding" guide or anything, but I guess we all kind of assume that people will have a look at the game files themselves before trying to learn anything through tutorials.
Well thats why I asked if someone can point me in the right direction on taking it slow and easy.
Dont want to be overwhelmed and go well screw this I am not doin all that.
If you choose skinning, then I would advise you as a starter to go through numerous photoshop tutorials around the internet. The more you experiment, the more efficient you'll become in photoshop. Familiarize yourself with user interface. Some photoshop book might be useful for thatOriginally Posted by SeeJ

For unit skinning you will need different metal effects, creating depth into clothes, folds etc (displacement maps could be useful for you at the start), different selection possibilities, changing colors (saturation, contrast, levels).
Remember that this might take very long.
Ok thanks, and dont worry ima start screwin around with it now. I have th etime dont worry about that lol.
