Thread: Limiting Population Growth

    Default Limiting Population Growth

    Hi,

Is it possible (through scripting?) to limit population growth to 1 turn a year? Or even twice a year, as per Vanilla, without losing the 4 turns a year?

The manner in which seasons have been modified suggests that its possible but......

The work you guys have done to limit population growth in regions to date has been great, but even with a slaughtered population a region can grow very very quickly (due to the 'compounding' percentage effect).

    Cheers,

Pop growth can be lowered, but it would be nice to see percentages lower than 0.5%.

IRL 3%+ is actually really bad since it's doubling every few decades and 5%+ is doubling in about half the previous time(I believe). Maybe you can tack on a -0.5% to the higher tier palace type buildings.

We can't have percentages lower than 0.5% a turn, which means that at a minimum cities will grow at a rate of 2% a year. Truly we would wish for smaller percentiles, but that is not possible in RTW.

Maybe somekind of winter penalty which would eliminate the farming based population growth every winter?
