Help with EB, tech problems

help.

Everytime I try to play EB (either with RTW or BI), the game automatically exists to windows. (The game
closes by itself) There is no error message, popup, etc.

I tried to reinstall-repair it but it still doesn't work.

*This is after installing the newest .81a that has .8 + .81 in 1 pack.
I previously had .80 + .81 update and it worked fine, but I uninstalled them and downloaded the new lumped .81a

If you have reinstalled more than once and it does't work perhaps a faulty download is to blame. Try downloading .81a full again.

Best bet is to completely uninstall RTW. Reinstall RTW and first check to make sure it is running. Upgrade to 1.5 (if it isn't already) and then check again to make sure the patches aren't causing the problem. If RTW 1.5 works properly then proceed to make a copy of it (always good to have a backup) and install the 0.81a full install you downloaded over the new copy of RTW 1.5. If EB does not work then we know that the 0.81a install is corrupted and you will need to redownload it. Delete the copied RTW 1.5 (the one you installed the corrupt EB on) and make another copy from the original RTW install. Over this new copy install the newly downloaded version of EB 0.81a full install.
