I don't think so, as they come from within the description which, as far as I understand, is not used by the game in any sensible way.
They do however stand for things that are listed above, e.g. Hardy = Good Stamina, Impetuous = May Charge without orders, etc.
Yes, I don't believe that they can affect the game mechanics.
