    Default Beyond Mundus Magnus

I'm curious. Is there any mod out there with a map bigger than Mundus Magnus? Because that would really rock

You mean with full Scandinavia, India, further than Ethiopia?
    Maybe...
..in vanilla scale only --> that won't rock :)

LOL, actually I was thinking about China. I just adapted Mundus Magnus and I started to think that maybe the Numidia faction slot could be adapted to something really furthest in the east (and not that close to Carthago) like... China!

And what do you have to say about the vanilla scale? It's a nice scale as far as I know.

EEK... you don't know about 510/1021 pixel limit? Even if you'll make such map, scale will be unplayable!

Thanks, I knew there was a limit but I could not locate it in the hardcoded limits thread.

    That's what I mean. Mundus Magnus is quite a standard today and it's "only" 384 x 224.

I mean, not that is not already big, but being still far from the limit I guess someday someone has to go further than that.

I guess now every team is making map with MM area, but in 510 pixels width, as do I.

    Only now ....

Actually, I think the reason that MM is not expanded is that it is at its maximum size due to the landmass CTD, which happens if you have too much water (among other causes). By blowing up MM you'd increase the size of both the Indian Ocean and the Mediteranean Sea to a point that would probably trigger the CTD.

That's a good explanation, Squid. Thanks for sharing.

Too bad that stupid landmass CTD! Grrrr.

Hey Charge, what's that map you are doing?

Needs some adjustment in narrow places, but will keep same area. Already loads, some ctd's exist though. Optimum balance between area/scale in my opinion.

Now I understand what you meant with scale. Looks really really detailed.

    this is what I was working on for M2, before I knew that I was going to prefer Rome over it;

this however like pointed out wont work in Rome cause of the landmass-bug
