Default Killing off your king in battle

I'm playing as Russia and my faction leader is probably the worst character i've ever seen. He's dangerously mad, so lazy he's earned the monkier "The Fat", as well as being "lame of loin." The worst problem is that he's only got a level 1 authority rating, and my armies are starting to rebel. I could send him off in a boat and hope that pirates get him, but it would be easier just to have him die in battle against some rebels. I've had him fight several battles already but he either wins overwhelmingly or runs away.

What's the best way to ensure he'll die next time I send him on a suicidal charge?

Killing your monarch: A step by step solution

    1) Find a large enemy army
    2) Charge into the first row of units, then move through it, noting where your king is
    3) Alternate ordering that the bodyguard move out on either side, so that they remain in the middle of teh mass without fighting
    4) Wait for your king to die

The important thing is to make sure that your king has no way to escape when he finally routs, hence the need to run into the middle of the mass of troops and stay there.

Even better yet, find army with artillery. position units with back facing enemy and wait until they die

Heh, Send artillery with your king. Send him in to attack and have the artillery attack the same target.

    Artillery friendly fire is... common.

Step 1: Build a cog (or get your worst ship unit ie the ones that have like 5 men left)
Step 2: Put crappy general on board said ship
Step 3: Send ship by itself to attack the nearest enemy port, fleet or at least send it into pirate invested waters.
Step 4: Listen. You can almost hear the general scream from hell.

If the enemies built Janissary heavy infantry or Forlorn Hope, you could send them against these, many enemy generals/kings in one army are also an option. But I think diablodelmar has a great solution.

For those solutions that include allowing the king/general to get attacked by enemies, it's advisable to set the unit up so the man is closest to the incoming unit, and thus bears the brunt of the charge. IIRC they are often on the left, so you typically want the enemies coming into the left side of the bodyguard unit. With that done, you'll mostly find that the king/general dies long before the rest of his unit would reach rout status, so it takes away the problems of having him rout and thus run away from the combat.

I particularly like back turned to enemy artillery, but i found boat the easiest solution.

I guess your guy is a lost cause, but I had a problem playing chivalrous with high dread kings, every time I killed one the next king was just as bad , I wish I could nominate heirs, but I guess thats "unmedieval". I was left with making my king chivalrous from +8 dread, I was able to get him to +1 dread which was a big improvement but not really what I wanted.

yeah i hate it when a guy i send to his death gets away, taking him on a crappy sea voyage to the lands of pirates usually works best...those generals can really move when they decide to rout
And when the brazen cry of achilles
Was heard among the trojans, all their hearts
Were troubled, and the full-maned horses whirled
The chariots backward, knowing griefs at hand...
