Default Use of Artillery in segies and sallying

Okay, ive got two issues here that have been bugging me for a while now.

Firstly, when attacking a settlement, useing say onagars of heavy onagars, and the artillery hits civilian structures inside the settlement, does it cause casualties? I ask because in the past ive had huge portions of the city burn, but without a spy in the city i dont know the population level beforehand. this would be an effective way to reduce population ontop of the extermination.

Secondly, why are onagars so awkward to use when defending? i cant fire at units over the walls, but i can fire at siege towers etc, any idea why?

Sadly, but it, unrealistically, does not. It does however, destroy buildings, yet only if you hit build-able buildings on the battle map. Otherwise it, unfortunately, does very little. Sorry.

That is, sadly, a very nasty bug. I am not sure yet, I believe that it could have something to do with the fact that the great siege towers are very high up and that is where the mighty onagers aim for rather than on the ground in the case of units. Shame, yet there is nothing that can be done about it, sorry.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, cheers!

Its cool, thanks for the help!
I figured thatd be the case with the first point, plus it looks might cool when the city is burning and you've got infantry pouring down the streets
As for the second point, it makes sense, though itd be good if you could get onagagrs built into towers, but clearly you cant!
