I know exactly what you mean as well.. I can play and play and play, then promise myself, "One more turn and I'll stop and study/sleep!"
..Five turns later, I'm still saying the same thing. xD Eventually I stop when my laptop starts slowing down, though, and finally go on with them trivial duties. I think the advice to take it slow is a good point to note, even if the shoot them all option sounds better.![]()

Actually, most EB members don't ever get to play a really long campaign. MarcusAurlieusAntoninus played a crazy-long Roman campaign when he started as a betatester for us, but I don't think many of our modders have been able to do that in a long times.
I have played a really long Makedonian campaign when 0.74 was released (to 150 bc) but since i joined Team i wasn't able to play a campaign for more than acouple of turns (especially during the 0.81 update process)
I got my self control back again after getting a 62% on my 1st Chemestry Exam. I can now say last turn, and then...... The game is over and study/sleep/weightlifting time.
Fortunately for me, my work mainly requires me to 'be there, just in case'. So I use the quiet times to think about strategies.
No, I do not tell my boss.
Thankfully, my job, being tip oriented, doesn't work me a large amount of time (5-6 hrs a day usually). So I have free time to sink into my Romani campaign, which approaches 200 BC as we speak.

Shit i'd be happy with the Marians... i'm at like 230. Extremely fun so far.Originally Posted by EoE
Yeah, I wanted to do that, but a CTD during the AI turn stopped me from going further... It was 214 and I had just begun the African Invasion.
But I've got no remorse. I'd somehow skipped the polybian reforms and jumped directly to Marian...
Anyway back on topic, the most problematic is the loading time of EB. Takes about 10 minutes to load the game and a save, which means that I'm pretty reluctant to stop at the end of a turn. So I click "end turn" and a new problem arises... I take care of it and then repeat the process.
Easily adds 2-3 hours of enjoyment, though.

I don't play for long in one day though. Even when studying history I need breaks..

Back in 0.80, I played about 2-4 hours a day. Then when I started getting assignments and studying for classes, I teatered off. Then I bug tested and much of that I wouldn't call 'playing', but a couple hours of that.
I beat you to it! Though I am curious how many other people have gotten them. I started the campaign as a fan, but I think I got the reforms as a beta tester though. I kind of cheated though, setting the reforms early. Though I only got them about a decade early by the time I had a guy who could get them. But I have played past the original date, so I would have gotten them without the change anyways.Originally Posted by EoE
Now that I'm done with the semester, I might go back and start playing the Roman campaign again, after spring break.
