Yeah you need the highest class of ship; the Caravel.

Does anyone know what the equivalent Turkish ship to the caravel is? I've been playing well past victory conditions, just to get the chance to go to the New World. It's about 1370 already and I haven't had the "World is Round" event yet, and the best ship I can build is the Lanterna.

It's called a Baghalah or somthing similar, very weak in combat though compared to a carrack. World is round won't turn up for a while and neithier the ship nor the last level docks that it is built from are avalibile to build till then.

When does the "The World Is Round" event occur? Is it set at a certain date or do other events or development dtermine when it will appear?
