Thread: Rebellions

    Default Rebellions

One of the standouts from Medieval 1, was the possibility that your mighty empire might descend into civil war. This meant that a substantial amount of work needed to go into ensuring loyalty of generals, rewarding supporters, keeping large armies out of the hands of potentially disloyal generals.

I know the loyalty aspect makes it easier for rival factions to bribe generals, but is there a possibility of civil war? In several campaigns as different countries, I've only had a couple of generals be bought - and then they only become your vanilla rebels rather than potential throne claimants.

Another aspect was the appearance of Burgundy and Switzerland if those areas rebelled. This certainly made it occasionally difficult as you would all of a sudden have to deal with the heavily armed swiss pikemen...

Ahhh MTW1 so long ago I'd forgotten.

Yes I liked the rebellion/civil wars/loyalty issues in MTW1, perhaps a modder could comment on doing this for MTW2.

Check out the Blood, Broads, and Bastards mod. My favorite M2TW mod. It has Chivalric titles, Rebellions and some trait fixes. I modded out the Rebellions part of BBB myself, but it sounds like what you are looking for.
