    Default Any way to see the starting tips again for a new campaign?

    You know, what the advisor says at the start of a campaign, where she outlines where you should expand etc.

    I can't seem to find any way of displaying it again for a new campaign with a faction I've already played.... Changing "first time played" in the .cfg file did not seem to help... Anybody know how to do it?

    I like hearing them altough it doesn't really matter with my strategy, to me it simply helps getting into the atmosphere of the faction I'm about to play...

    Anybody got an idea?

    I seem to remember seeing a 'reset advisor' setting in the options menu - if all else fails you could do that

    Reset Advisors will only reset them, not bring them back up.

    Going ingame to find ingame way to do it.

    After looking harder, advice seems (to me) to be controlled through the /preferences/advice file, though how i dont' know.

    I'd guess that the file is edited when advice is given but it doesn't appear clearly in notepad.

    I'm sure a knowledgeable modder will drop by and help you out.

    Right, above the "Reset Advisor" in the Game Options menu, there is

    "Advice Level"

    Turning that on "High" and using "Reset Advisor" will turn it back to default.

    If that doesnt work, ill pull the lines out from the .cfg file for you.

    @pevergreen nope, resetting doesn't help at all.And neither does "advisor verbosity" in the cfg file...

    @sapi what file is that?

    In my m2tw installation there's a file in /m2tw/preferences called 'advisor' that seems to keep track of advisor options.

    I have no idea how to edit it properly though (as it doesn't display well in notepad++)

    Now that was a weird thing! No extension, and completely unreadable in any of the text program I have...

    Guess I'll have to hope for some miracleman to pass by the thread....

    Can't really understand why it should be so hard to do this though, perhaps an oversight from CA...

    I really did enjoy them :(

    in medieval2.preference.cfg

    [game]
    advanced_stats_always = 0
    advisor_verbosity = 0
    ai_factions = skip
    allusers = 1
    auto_save = 1
    blind_advisor = 0

    Changing some of that should work. That is mine with No advisor talking.

    Nope, changing those don't work...

    Unless somethings hiding under my nose, the answer isn't in the cfg file...

    Best bet is that pref file, if there is some way of reading and editing it..

    the file is readable, but notepad++ doesn't recognise its type and so the formatting is, for lack of a better word, screwed :(

    I don't know if changes in these files do anything but it may be a start to set the MaxRepeats higher?
