    Question Question about recruitment regions

I am not sure where this belongs, but it is something I have been investigating for my cards and I was wondering whether an EB member could give me an official answer to the following question:

If a unit can be recruited in a certain province by ONE faction, can it be recruited in that region by ALL the factions that can recruit it?

e.g. say a unit of Pezhetairoi can be recruited by the Macedonians in Pella, does that imply that every other faction that can recruit Pezhetairoi (i.e. Ptolemies, Seleucids, Epeiros, Baktria) can do so in Pella (assuming they can have the relevant MIC level there)?

    Thanks in advance

Very much not the case for factional units at least, but I'm not sure about regional units. Someone else will know more than me.

I don't think regionals match up from faction to faction, they may be suppost to though. Don't take my word on it though, I'm not sure.

There is no rule that forces regionals to match from faction to faction but i can't tell You if they do or dont match in practice.

I know regionals don't at least in one instance, since I know that in Gallic provinces Qart-Hadast can recruit Gaesatae at the L3 regional MIC whereas Romani cannot. I wish I had a full map to tell me which factions could recruit which regionals where, though. I could always dig through the files and hunt it out but I'm feeling lazy :-P

The answer is "yes" about 98% of the time. There are a few cases where one faction or culture can recruit a unit in one or two extra provinces. The best example of this is some of the Western Med cities with Greek culture. Here, Greek-type factions can recruit 2-3 units like hoplitai and akontistai whereas non-Greek factions can only recruit the natives. But that is very much the exception. Recruitment is insanely complicated as it is, and introducing specialization is tricky to implement and VERY hard to keep track of.
