Welcome to the .org Primus, unfortunately the discussion of breaking copy protection for total war games, including discussion of such programs as alcohol 120% and daemon tools for this purpose has always been an undesirable subject AFAIK. It is not really for me to state .org policy, but I am pretty sure that the .org likes to retain good relations with CA and I'm also quite sure if you read the forum rules you'll see some mention of this. Having members here instructing all and sundry as to how to crack the game (which is actually what dmcheatw is trying to do here) doesn't go towards maintaining those relations. I know for a fact that if you tried this on at the .com forums, several moderators would be on your case instantly, and this thread would no longer be open. Whether you're genuine or not is not the issue.Originally Posted by Primus
I'm afraid that it is not ok to talk about it anywhere, certainly no where I can direct you to from here anyway. I understand where you're coming from, and I do know that the copy protection is annoying, doesn't deter piracy in the slightest and simply harasses the legitimate user. But there's not a lot to be done about it at present. Games publishers have to start realising how ineffectual this type of protection is. Personally I would prefer on online/telephone validation code system. This would allow me to make a working backup copy of the disc legally and not have CD/DVD in the drive all the time making a noise and having to spin up every time the game is launched.Originally Posted by dmcheatw
