Or something else perhaps? It's pretty frustrating. I've tried saving on new savegames, with advisor on and off. What gives?

Have you tried Kull's improved rebellion CTD fix found in the stickies, Oleo's script fix found in the eleutheroi CTD thread, and my nerfed EDCT found in the Hayasdan CTD thread? You may try them in that order while waiting for someone to test it out.

Im not sure it has something to do with it because the game crashes either on Arche Seleuka or Pahlava turn, but I thank you anyway and I will try out those scripts in that order.
Ok, I tried Kull's fix and it worked for several more turns. Now it crashed again after a battle with the Arche Seleuka.
Fixed and crashed again after a long and hard heroic victory. Makes you want to quit altogether from this game.
It is not a final release, enjoyment is not compulsory... But we're trying hard to eliminate crashes.
As you've advanced beyond the initial point where you posted, could you post a new savegame where this victory crash happens? It sounds similar to another that I haven't got around to looking at, likely unrelated to those we've found fixes for.
