    Default MTWII Battle Crash

    Greetings

Here's my problem, I am TRYING to play MTWII, which always worked in the past, and it now no longer allows me to fight in battle, I don't remember this problem previous to the patch and my unpacking, but now I just can't fight a sinlg battle, it crashes and sometimes claims I have my setting on too high, I set them all to lowest, still crashed, my PC is brand new and top of the range, so I somewhat doubt that its not powerful enough.

This is a somewhat worrying turn of events.

Does the whole computer crash or just the game?

Just the game, and only for battles, the landscape is black and flickery.

Campaign works etc, just won't let me fight battles, despite numerous graphics downsizings in the options, although i know for a fact that my PC can run on the higher settings and indeed has done.

Does it crash right away or can you play a battle for a bit and then it crashes?

It could be heat related. Check for dust and the such in the heatsink and fan. Overheating can cause many weird graphical anomalies.

It crashes immediately, playing RTW and it has no such effect, same with the new Warhammer game and other graphically taxing titles, its rather odd, could it be patch related?

Did you delete the files mentioned in the readme after unpacking?

No troubles - it's come up quite a few times in the m2tw forums, so you're not alone
