The Baktrian Eranshar Arshtabara with some experience/morale bonuses would be the closest you'd get to the immortals, methinks.

Rabbit heartily recommends these EB AARs.

In terms of equipment(not including armor), the Eranshar Arshtabara is indeed the closest you can get. They have a big spear and they carry a powerful bow. But, they aren't too heavily armored, as the Immortals would have been.

I think an Eranshar Arstbara with some armor would be only possible fantasy unit I can think of that are feasible enough for one to actually want in EB (as far as any fantasy unit can be considered feasible for EB ) :)

Atleast in my Bactrian game I thought, I wish I could have some Eranshar Arstbara types with some sort of armor. But on the other hand when one would get to such situation one could train those hypothetical units one is already rich enough to train phalangites of various kinds (atleast for Bactria and Seleucids) to stand in the front line.
We have this almost mythical tree, given to us by the otherwise hostile people in the east to symbolize our friendship and give us permission to send caravans through their lands. It could be said to symbolize the wealth and power of our great nation. Cut it down and make me a throne.
