it can get corny sometimes, but i like the movie...i'm inspired to play a european faction and be totally fair and just, Except for 1 crusade to holy land to take and hold it...and i will just occupy it, so the citizens will be rowdy for a while

and i will try to make peace after with turks and egypt, and bring units in by the sea to not make them angry if i need to reinforce the city

what is the best faction to be able to take lands, without EVER attacking first, i am thinking HRE...any suggestions?

no, i mean that they attack me first, like i will never strike the first blow kinda thing...i wanna play as a "good guy"

As England it's not long until Scotland and France attack you.

Or you could play as the home of chivalry - France.

Playing as them is great fun - especially if you use knights as your front line and just charge the enemy from the off, supported by foot troops. Doesn't always work and often you end up a lot of dead horses but when you get those initial charges right, mmmm sweet.

You also have to deal with the psychopathic Milanese and Danes so it's not long until they attack you too.

Plus didn't the French have the original Kingdom of Heaven?

France is your bet...If you're not attacked by England, it wil be Milan, if not it will be either Spain or Portugal and even the Danes and HRE want something from you...

So I'll put my money on France to get attacked first... And then I would retaliate....

i dont like france, i have never played them in this or the old mtw

the only french thing i can tolerate is the women

so far i am leaning towards hre, poland or hungary...hre has most starting lands...so i wont have to wrangle with my christian neighbors too much

i play pretty much like that quickening, but for this i wanna be totally good, no sacking, will release prisoners and gift money to weak factions under siege...an army of goodness

If you play as the HRE expect to be at war with pretty much everyone.

Im playing good guy currently with the papal states, only taking rebel settlements or those who attack me first... sicily took bologna and then launched a 2-pronged attack sieging my cities of Florence and Rome...

Golden chance to go crush them and move forward my "unification of Italy" project... (I took Genoa from Milan a while ago when they attacked FLorence, but then made a ceasefire with them)...
