Thread: Taisho high honour useful...yeah!

I have seen many players online using an ashigaru hon0 or another low quality + honour unit as taisho. They do this because the general only has to be protected and so they put the gen in an useless unit (to say so of course, no unit is useless); they don't use him in battle and keep him alive...

BUT...our maybe full of mistakes manual states the following on page 41 (European version):

Your taisho can attempt to rally routing troops. The honour level of the individual leader determines success.

I always get a good unit as general...for the ones that use a low honour unit....read the manual

true... true.. but once they are rallied, their spirit is still broken and they rout easily.

Yah, but does it really mean honor or rank? Honor is the unit's, rank the Taisho's.....

In this ambigous manual you have to read between the lines...

honour level of the individual leader can explain this. I think it refers about the rank of the taisho. (in multi-player the gen's honour/rank is the same after all)

I always pick a good unit for my taisho, usually Yari Samurai with high honor, because if your taisho routs so will the rest of your army.I would never use YA as a taisho.Using a gun unit as taisho means one less missle unit out front pounding the enemy;too risky to put your taisho in that position.

So from my thesis I can say that an army with a gen who is hon3 will rally easier than one with hon2.
