Hello. I'm confused about using diplomats to bribe people. There's the option to bribe, but no way to enter the amount you want to offer. Does it work? What am I missing?
Thanks.

In fact the option exists but rarely works...It is a counter-effect of the "too easy bribe system" of RTW...
The amount of the bribe is determined automatically by the AI according to the valor of the army you're bribing, the level of your diplomat and supposedly the amount of cash in your treasury...
Even with cheats, and level 6 diplomats I haven't been able to bribe even a 4- units army...
I posted sometime ago about how impossible it was to bribe and hopefully, it seems to be moddable.

You can't offer a certain amount, just click the button and they'll answer, IF - and only IF - you're filthy rich, how much they want in cash for disbanding or joining you. If not, the'll just reject the offer.Originally Posted by human_male
In fact, the bribe targets ask for such zillion-insane amounts of money, that's just not worth trying. An un-usable feature, IMHO.

"Whose motorcycle is this?", "It's a chopper, baby.", "Whose chopper is this?", "Zed's.", "Who's Zed?", "Zed's dead baby. Zed's dead." - Butch and Fabienne ride off into the sunset in Pulp Fiction.
Bribery of characters and units, along with most of Diplomacy is borkedNot worth wasting your time on. The only thing worth while in diplomacy is trade rights, map info, and gifting (or bribing) the pope and factions you want as friends. In M2TW you have to buy your friends (er allies).
