Default For those who know the history of Charlemagne

I am not fluent in this period of European history. In terms of MTW2 what cities and castles represent his empire?

In response please list out the city names and castles as they appear in MTW2 if you could.

    thanks,

    Odin

Charlemagne's empire covered most of modern day France and extended somewhat north and east so it would be something like that :

Paris, Angers, Rennes, Bruges, Metz, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Dijon, Marseille, Stauffn and maybe even Nuremberg and Antwerp (not totally sure about those last two ones...)

Anyway that died somewhere after 900 so almost 200 years before the beginning of MTW2...so the center of power might change a lot...

Charlemagne'capital city was Aix-la-Chapelle (modern day Aachen in Germany) and should be somewhere betweem Metz and Stauffen and the city above (can't remember its name...)

It played more on the timescale of MTW:VI...

    Hope that helps...

Both posts helped a lot thanks fellas. So he did hold the realms of Burgandy and most of northen italy and germany so @Tristan de Castelreng is your list far enough to the west?

Based on the map provided it looks to encompass (in game terms) france (including bourdeaux) the cities of milan and all of the HRE possibly to prague?

Reason for my asking is after I complete my current hungarian campaign I thought I would attempt to recreate the Calogian empire (currently using the LTC mod) so I wanted to get some opinions of what others more educated of the period thought that might encompass in terms of settlements.

That map dates from 843. Charlemagne died in 814... I don't think it changed very much, but perhaps a little on the eastern border, and also the province in spain.

EDIT: 1814 was perhaps a bit too much for a human... Thanks Omisan :P

As of now I will probably use that map as my guide but we'll see, someone else might be concocting the same Role play for themselves and have made a list of the requsite settlements needed as they exsist in the game.

    So thus far I have:

    Paris
    Angers
    Rennes
    Bruges
    Metz
    Toulouse
    Bordeaux
    Dijon
    Marseille
    Stauffn

and maybe even Nuremberg and Antwerp

Anyone out there care to dispute or confirm this? Again its really just for my own personal role play purposes for a future campaign, but would love to get feedback from those who know the Charlemagne period.

Im surprised no Italian cities are on the list wasnt milan part of the kingdom of burgandy at the time?
