Thread: Game Spy - Problems to Log In

    GameSpy Registration

Your email address, online name and password must appear in this account exactly the same as in the game's multiplayer menu. If they don't match, you'll get an "account details incorrect" message when you try to login to multiplayer. Also, don't use any spaces in your online name.

Don't have a desktop icon. I dislike them, because I like a clean desktop.. result: easy help like this can't be used by computer-newbs like me.

I'm confident the account is ok now. I got an error about my account the first try the first time when I was trying to log in. then, I reentered password and I haven't gotted the error since. 'Invalid CD Key' error all the way.

    How about this?
    Open: My Computer
    Open: Program Files
    Open: GameSpy Arcade
Find the GameSpy icon probably named "Aphex". Double click on that.
Then you can log on to the GameSpy site, and check the My Games List on the main page for Viking Invasion.

If it is not there then the game is probably not installed properly, and you will never get your CD key to be recognized.

If you can’t log on to your GameSpy account, then likewise you will never get your CD key recognized.

    End of story...

I don't have anything from Gamespy on the P.C. Perhaps I could've disabled installing it when I installed MTW+VI? I didn't except to need 'extra programs' to play Multiplayer I guess..

You don't need GameSpy Arcade. If you can play MTW/VI single player, then the game is installed properly.

Just because you can play single player does not insure that the multiplayer link components of the software, or your interface, are functioning or are enabled properly.

The Arcade verification was to help you rule out that this could be possibly be the problem, or part of the problem.

If that were true, then it’s GameSpy that you should be talking to, and having an Arcade account would give you access to their assistance.

I have tried communicating with SEGA before about Total War products, and my experience was that they barely even knew that they existed.

I hope things have changed, and you can get this fixed so we can play

    Good Luck

Do you have a GameSpy Arcade account yet?

    http://www.gamespy.com/

It would be extremely helpful in verifying your game’s installation, and troubleshooting registration.

Your problem is with GameSpy, not with SEGA.

SEGA is huge, and just happens to own the company, that just happened to make (a long time ago) the game you are trying to get working, and they know little or nothing about it.

GameSpy provides product registration and your access to play online, so that’s where you need to start if you can’t log on.

Lol, they're pointing me towards CA. I'll contact them now, along with complaining about the lack of support at Gamespy support.

Ok. they're saying that they really do not have anything like a cd key list, but that CA has it.

I'll go and stalk them now.

I believe you must have a email-verified GameSpy account before you can register your CG key (which you do through the game), and play multiplayer...
I didn't say anything about contacting GameSpy.

First things first, you need to verify your games installation.

If you have a GS account, then you should be able to perform the above test very easily.

There is no need to try to talk to any one about your problem if you havent done the basics first.

Eighty percent of problems can be solved by close examination of what is right there in front of you.

If you can not see your game on GS then there are other things that need to be done before you even try to register your CD key.

The old quote says that "a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step". What is not said is, that it is then a step by step experience, with each succesive step requiring that the step before it has been made first.
