    Default Modders' Resource: Form Answers

In an effort to help beleagured modders I have prepared some form answers/advice to common questions asked and problems encountered by those who have problems with installing or playing mods. Please feel free to cut and paste and use in your own forums.

    1. When it's finished
    2. You're going to have to bite the bullet and actually read the installation instructions
    3. No, that is not possible in the RTW engine, in any other engine I've encountered, and certainly not in real life!
    4. Why in blue blazes did you do that?
    5. I'm sorry we cannot offer support when you have 17 other mods, or parts thereof, in your copy of Rome
    6. Yes, it is possible to add the features and factions you suggest but it will take another 8 years to do it
    7. That's illegal
    8. No, I do not have time to personally mentor you
    9. Did you delete map.rwm first?
9a. No, map.rwm file reappearing is not a bug with your game / computer
    10. No, vanilla is not an ice-cream flavour in this context
    11. The mod is for [insert platform and version number here] which you will find by looking at the large bold words under the title of the mod in the mod installation instruction post which reads "a mod for [insert platform and version number here]"
    12. Yes, it will be in the next version
    13. What do mean our mod stopped your [insert totally unrelated software here] from working?
    14. No.
    15. Yes, we had actually thought of that - and quite some time ago too as it is a very basic part of the research and we have been going for 2 years with a team of people who do know something about the world they are trying to create. But thank you.
    16. Please see this link - [insert critical link here that no one reads] - to answer the question you have posed (along with 37 others over the past 2 months) in this thread you have randomly (and quite incorrectly) started and that we will have to delete later so that the forum is at least half organized. Thank you.
    17. Moved.
    18. Moved again.
    19. Please stop making inane posts to increase your post count and look as good as the devs - you ain't got a chance mate.
    20. Dear [insert name here], on review of your explanation of your installation problem, and your statement that you had followed the said installation instructions "to the letter", I found a number of letters you had left out, ignored or otherwise misplaced in your reading of them. This can easily be corrected by reading each letter carefully and constructing words from them which will make up sentences. Follow these in order (and without avoiding any) and all should be fine.
    21. I know you feel the problem is with the files you downloaded from us, it's just that as the other 10,000 people who downloaded it had no problems we are thinking that it might be a problem your end - as unlikely as that may seem to you.
    22. No, the RTW engine hasn't changed since the last time you asked, so no, that cannot be implemented.
    23. Let me direct you to the thread where you last asked that question, and where we answered: [insert link here]

I hope that fellow modders will be able to add to this useful resource. Thank you.
