Thread: Mid battle CTD

    Default Mid battle CTD

Hi, occassionally during my campaigns I experience CTDs and it always seems to be when the skies have been blackened by my archers. You can imagine my frustration when a few hilltop vollies from my HA's caused a Seleucid stack of heavy and elite infantry to turn around and start marching to the other end of the board, and their controlled march soon turning into a massacre as I turned them into pincushions, only for the battle to crash half way through.

This has happened occassionally before, it always seems to be when I'm using a lot of archers, anyone else experiencing this?

On a side note, I can't seem to recruit Armenian Cataphracts in my campaign? I'm using the rebel CTD and Tuat fix but apart from that nothing is modified. I have Type 1 govs in all provinces which allow them.

That sounds much more like a problem with your cpu not being able to handle the graphics. All those arrows cause an additional burden on your cpu and video card. I don't think there's anything we can do with the mod to stop that though.

Lower effects detail level (I think that's the right one).
Before I got my new graphics card (over a year ago) arrows would slow me down and flaming arrows would sometimes crash the game all together.

Hmm weird, I'm on an AMD64 3700 with 2 x 7600GT in SLi mode :p Will see if there are any driver updates and stuff.

Anyway, I reloaded my campaign and played the battle again and it didn't crash. Guess I'll have to make sure I save my campaign before any more recreations of Thermopylae :p

    Cheers.
