I realize that, but its still incredibly frustrating.You were excommunicated for taking Venice back, i.e. attacking him. I do not think he ever gives out warnings, he usually excommunicates immediately if he is the object of aggression.
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.
